  • Phillips or slot

I've searched till I can't search no more. Does the 58 FL trans top use phillips or slot screws? All I find is countersunk screws. Also when did the screw head diameter change (I know the 58 uses the small head screws)? And while I'm asking when did the trans mount plate get the threaded ft. holes?

    Thanks, Kerry

1952 was the yr they started to change over from slot to phillips. you could go both ways. 58 takes phillips.

Thanks, I looked under special notes for 52 after you posted that. Now I need to find a set of slot screws for the 51 and the R-3 speed that both have phillips. One good thing is there will be pleanty to pick from for the 58.

      Thanks, Kerry
