  • Trans rollers +.0006

Anyone know of a source for +.0006" bearings for the 4 speeds (forgot the OEM#)? I haven't tried Sonnax directly but that's the only other idea I have.

I remember the deal about the OEM # now. Tedds has it listed as 9086 but that's really .0008 over.

OK, Sonnax was very quick with a reply. Bad news is they have discontinued the .0006. Anyone know of a shop that does trans work and keeps inventory. I am out of them now and don't want to hone to 8 if it can be helped.

      Thanks, Kerry

Kerry, I don't know your experience when it comes to do this but did you do a plug fit on this. 6 Over seems whey to big. I've never had to fit a bearing that large on a main gear. I'm not saying it can't happen just that I have never needed anything that large. Another note, you got to mike these things. Don't for one minute think that what the package says is real. I've been trying to get a set of 8 and 10 over for my wheel hubs just to do a plug fit. Three times a failure. The last two packets 8 over miked at 3.5 and the 10 at 55. Eastern is another supplier and they have the 6 over. Bob L

I'll look at Eastern tomorrow. Both the main and the cluster had .0004's in it. A new Andrews C/S and new 4's are still too loose but 8's wont quite go in either.
I know what you mean about checking the size. I don't know if anyone still does it but back about 15 years ago some warehouses used dispensers to fill bearing orders. Somehow, don't know if it was stocking or mishaps filling the orders, but I had multiple orders with mixed sizes in the same bags. Also whoever was making the parts didn't have a very strict tolerance guideline. I would sort the sizes out first then sort through ea. size and make piles of bearings that actually matched and hope I could find at least 44 matching rollers per pile.
I haven't bought anything except Sonnax since those days. I still check 4 or 5 rollers from ea. bag for piece of mind but have never found one to be off from them. Good quality parts.
Thanks and I'll ck. Eastern in the morning, Kerry
