Crankcase/Primary sealing
What keeps the crankcase oil from entering the primary drive on a 1940 Sport Scout? I have noticed a lack of lip style oil seals in this engine. Only seals seem to be felts, leather and gaskets. The drive shaft sprocket has a boss which rides very close to the inner primary housing and the inner housing has grooves which evidently channel away crankcase oil back into the crankcase to be scavenged.
