1928-29 JDH Front fork

I am interested to get your opinions on which front fork were used on the 28 JDH and the 29 JDH models. Was it the regular J model fork or the elusive I-beam type? Was the I-beam only a later replacement fork from the thirties?
Are there any factory pictures to prove which it it was?

This was discussed on another thread recently in this forum.

No Factory pictures have ever been seen with a bike leaving the factory with the I-beam fork, but everyone decided it was so anyway.

I've heard that Steve Shackman has HD paperwork listing the I-beam as a replacement part. Steve doesn't visit these forums, but I'm sure you could call him to find out what he has.
