    does anyone have a photo of this special order paint scheem and would it be correct for a late run 34 vl.serial number 34vd86**

    I don't know how to post pictures here but if you go to motorcycleclasics.com and search 1934 vld they have an article with pictures of a guy who has owned one in those colors since 1938. I found it doing research for my 34. If you send me your E-mail address I have a few more of the same bike stored on my hard drive I can send you

        That is a very high engine number for a '34 and should be OK for that paint scheme. The bike bought in 1938 has been seen in recent years at Oley, and I would say the striping colour is black or a very dark blue. It seems that bike was the one Ray Tursky rode in the 1934 Jack Pine, then it was given to him with his new Harley dealership. How cool is that.

          thanks everyone for the replys,what an interesting story in that article.i would love to have a bike with that kind of history.now the hard part trying to decide what color to go with.
