  • Rod to stroke ratio 5

In the the beginning the LR.takes a few more degrees to have good leverage because there is not much piston movement there no rod angle. But when it cuts loose and you have max expansion around 20 ATDS..This is when a LR. is desirable having not as much rod angle it's a straighter push on the crank pin your not stressing the piston with sharp rod angle which transmits thrust into the cylinder wall as well as the crank pin. That old LR.concept With the slower piston above 90de. has a chance to burn all the combustibles and with that small combustion chamber still has good thrust on the piston long after the SR. piston has disappeared. Now perfect right when the piston stops pushing the crank and starts being dragged by it ,it happens to be right in the area where you have your quickest piston speeds helping the crank to keep momentum. Great gas mileage clean burning which means performance in my book. I was green, he was seasoned ,first lesson"everyone makes mistakes,it's what YOU do about them, that's important"
