  • Reading Standard (Model ? & Year ?)

Anyone have an idea of what model & year this Reading Standard bike is? My friend found this picture and would love to know.

Here is a link if you want a higher resolution picture.

pretty good chance that bikes the same year as the date on the photo,im guessing.the bike looks immaculate, could be the day he brought it home from the dealer...just guessing the hardcore gurus will nail the year for sure.ave a gooder.

Reading Standard "Built and Tested in the Mountains"...... let's see the company gave up the camelback style tank in '05 and I'm pretty sure the engine was eliminated as a stressed member by '09 so in a roundabout way I guess I'm trying to say it's in the range from '06 to '08. I'm betting somebody else can narrow it down further...........

I believe the Thoroughbread became the Reading Standard in '06. Cory is right that they did have a loop frame by '09. As the competitors said "Built in the mountains and tested downhill". I'm with Cory somewhere between '06 -'08. When I was a teenager my Grandpa had a '05 thoroughbread. Scott
