It would take some work but it is fixable. I would have to machine up a new neck for the intake. Then its all just a matter of lots of welding from there.

Or you could possibly find a donor cylinder for the top part of that intake section.

I notice on that one that the line bore number matches the serial number.

That should be the case with all HD motors 1909 through 1914. 1915 was the first year for a different system. I guess some late 1908's may have done this as well, based on the motor that just showed up on ebay and one other.

Seller has a bidding/selling history of 2. YIKES! Best to go there with cash in hand and leave with the motor. Maybe his near you, Chris!

i wouldn't be surprised if we see more come to the surface as we all get older and start dying off. that's why it's important to make sure everyone important to you knows what you have and what you want done with it after you croak. otherwise it becomes property of the state and the probate court. i'll bet there is a lot of previously undiscovered and unknown stuff out there yet. this is my favorite thread and thank you jurassic for all the awesome pictures. i think you even know how lucky you are.

I can only imagain how much stuff is still stashed away out there. I need to sell alot of tanks and parts so I can start buying some of this. Dont want to just build for everyone else. LOL. Would like to have one of my own someday.

Never mind that one. It went for over $65,000! Makes me want to stop thinking about cutting up donor cycl for fins and necks. Getting too valuable.

I think the last big sell off was in the mid to late 90's when the generation born in the teens and earlier were departing for 2 wheel heaven. I remember incredible piles comming to the surface at that time. Of course, all of that good stuff got sucked up by new hoarders (who are probably my age) and I'll be dead when it all comes around again. When a motor sells for 62 grand, you can bet it will shake out others.
