  • '56 KH - '65 CH round air cleaner cover

I just went through all the threads and could not find a discussion on where to find a fairly correct (this will not be a show bike) air cleaner cover for my 1960 XLCH. The one Santa found at J&P is not what my KHK's cover is like; so, I'm betting it is not correct. Sporty's Specialties does not have one either. Does anyone have a suggestion?

    Happy New Year!

I believe there are two versions of the OEM air cleaner cover in the time period you mention. Both are stainless with the harley log on front and a center hole, and both are the same cover as used on the panheads of that period. Both have the Harley bar and shield on the front and engraved instructions on the side. The early ones have a "window pane" (engraved line) around the instructions, the latter do not. I'm not sure what year they change.

These, of course, are only available used at such places as swap meets, ebay, and your buddy's parts pile. Good ones start at about fifty bucks. A really nice one will cost you a hundred or more.
