  • knucklehead valve tins

    Greetings
Are the front intake and rear exaust valve tins the same? The reasion I ask is the cover I had planed to use as the rear cover doesnt seem to fit quite right.
I'm not sure if its the cover or the oil line.
    Thanks

The cups and lids are the same but the lines are routed differently.

I was wondering what the finish is on the rocker covers. Mine on my 47 have been chromed and I would like to them correctly.

No, Both were generally parkerized then painted black. I have seen bare metal painted black.

                cdndewey,
                I could be wrong.
But, I thought upper & lowers were parkerized, then the lowers were painted black with the heads. My '47 has parkerized upper tins with painted black lowers. The motor was built by Carl Olsen.

This 1944 photo appears to show painted bottom and Parkerized top. But I have also seen a NOS head that had everything black.

                      Thanks Chris...thanks Bob.

I think I'll go with the painted bottoms and parkerized tops.
