  • Oil lines keeper bracket?? which hole

Although I made a drawing (do not ask why I didn't take a picture) of the darn thing, it does not look right as I put it back on?

I'm talking about the little curved "finger" bracket the holds the oil lines. It attaches to one of the bolts that hold the Oil Tank bracket. Does it go in the hole on the kicker side or the primary side of the two holes? and does the crook of the finger point more up or down?

The way I think it goes... is mounted to the bolt on the kicker side and points down and holds the lines down almost against the tranny and away from the rear exhuast pipe??

The pic in the parts manual is not a lot of help.... and my drawing looks wrong..or at least the bracket does not look like my drawing when mounted.

It goes on the right side to keep the oil lines away from the exhaust pipe.

Heres two pics of the one on my 71. The little bracket is painted black on this bike and its tough to get a good shot of it where it lives down behind the pipe.
