  • 1912 H-D Brake Information

I have a 1912 H-D, Model X-8, and I note in the 1912 H-D parts book on page 25 that the 1912 H-D's could have had a Thor brake or an Eclipse brake. H-D list's two different axle extensions for the original tandem seat. One for the Thor brake and one for an Eclipse brake. Are there any markings on anything in the brake area to differentiate between the two? Or how can one tell the difference between the two? The bike is a single with "free-wheeling", battery ignition, and belt drive. Does anyone have any of the extensions? Part number 4022. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I think the different is the threads per in. on the axles. I have a set that is 5/8 x 18, J,JD Harley axles are 5/8" x 24. Call me if you want them, Terry Marsh 541-882-2613
