  • Early Indian V twin engine

    I have a complete early Vtwin Indian motor. I think it is mid to late teens, Serial number is RP777. I was told years ago that it possibly was a racing engine. Can anybody enlighten me any on it?

      Indian engine

      Hey Jerry, I'm no expert here, but looks like your motor is a 1920, this is what I copied off the serial number webpage

      "Starting in 1920 the 61ci PowerPlus (N and NE) was offered in a larger 72ci capacity named the NP and NEP (electrics) models. These 1178cc models had engine numbers starting with the following:
      1920 ="RPxxx",
      1921="SPxxx",
      1922="TPxxx"
      1923 ="VPxxx".

        I tend to agree with Dave on it being a '20. Got any pics Jerry?

            Nice Motor Jerry, or I should say, motors. I see you have a Evans Cyclemotor engine next to it. I've had a few of those over the years.

              I always like to see what's on the bench of another fellas shop! Cool stuff Jerry! Looks like you got yourself a '20 Powerplus as Dave said.
