thank you rooster---can anyone tell me what this is? it is 6 volt and very bright. i took it off the cross bar of and old henderson sidecar in lubec maine about 40 years ago. chris tells me it is not specifically for a motorcycle and it probably is not. the entire light is brass except for the steel mounting bracket. it measures about 6 1/2 by 10 inches. since it was found so close to canada it could be british made. i know they made a motorcycle called THE BROWN back at the beginning of the century. the side car was once owned by ronald haughn in st andrews nb canada. it was down in the bottom of an old lighthouse and is probably still there. the hole was only 16 inches square to get in there and i wouldn't fit now----thanks again for the help tom
