  • Calcium Carbide Source

Anyone know of a low cost source for calcium carbide. I found some on the web but they want to sell you 10 pounds at a time. Thanks.

I bought some of that but it's in powder form and don't work very well in the lights. I need the rock form. The powder seems to have to much surface area and produces too much gas too fast, it seems to burn real bright for a shorter time. As a matter of fact, it made my light more like a blow torch. It was exciting, scared the hell out of my buddy who has never messed with carbide before. Thanks.
