  • Work stand for 1934 VL

What can I make or buy that will serve as a stand to hold the frame of a VL while I put everything back together?

Install the rear stand on the frame and put it down. Install the forward footboard support rod into the frame and place a jackstand on each side if it. Your bike is now in a secure position to work on.

Not really related but I’m curious if putting a bike on the rear stand was meant to be a one man operation? Is there a technique to doing it? Or am I really that out of shape?

Stand behind the bike and pull it up onto the stand. Takes a little getting used to.

Once you have the rear wheel or rear stand on, you can put the foot board shaft through the front frame loop and sit 2 axle stands under it. Seems to work great.
