  • 1942 Harley Davidson WLA 45 “Magnum”

Brief History lesson: During WWII, the WLA 45 was the workhorse motorcycle of the US Military. Fast forward to the late 60’s and early 70’s, Randy Smith came up with a notion of mating a 45 bottom end with the Sportster top end. Approximately 13 of these motors were created by Randy Smith. This bike has a clear Ohio title and is a 1942 WLA “45 Magnum”. It has a 10 inch over 35 mm narrow glide front end and a ducktail rear fender. It runs a Mikuni 38 mm flat slide carburetor and a HD dish air cleaner. It has been converted to a zero loss oiling system with new crank bearings and thrust washers. It runs the P1 and P4 exhaust cams and uses roller bearing lifters. It has been converted to the standard 12 volt system. It has Accel plugs and wires, and runs a distributor based ignition system. It is “suicide shift” with foot clutch and “Betty Boop” controls a rebuilt 3 speed transmission. It runs custom built side pipes that are LOUD!!! Can deliver to Wauseon for a $50 trailer rental fee if paid in full prior to event or buyer to arrange pickup or shipping from Cleveland, OH (44111). $30,000 OBO. Will consider trade for Solid Big Twin and cash.
