  • Harley Hi-Fi paint, re-painting

My soon to be painter was telling me about Hi-Fi paints. He said they are

    1) Cost prohibitive.
    2) Fade rather quickly.
    3) That the "dupont knock off version is crap".

Also, I know I can get the paint from Antique Motorcycle Supply or John Pierce Colorwrite, are those two selling the same paint, or are these different formulas/mixes?

Has anybody here done a repaint with Hi-Fi colors recently, that can comment on these issues, or anything else I should know.

I really want to go Hi-Fi purple and white for my 62 sportster.

    Thanks
    Joe

Hi Joe, I painted a '68 XLCH about 10years ago with HI - FI purple from Antique Motorcycle supply for a customer and had no problums with it at all, and the last time I saw the bike it still looked great.
