  • Hole in 59 pan neck

I'm looking at the neck on a 59 pan frame ,and just noticed about a half inch round hole right in the very front .It would be facing the headlite ,and about 3/4 of the way down from the top. I don't know if it would hurt anything ,but at the top and bottom of the neck there are bearings .It looks to me like if enough water and stuff got in there it eventually could get between the lower race and the post that joins the 2 tripple trees together ,and then into the bearings ..
    Any ideas on this ?

Neil, that's for installing a fork lock plunger, I think there is a plug you can put in there. I put in a V=twin lock assembly on my pan and it came with a steel plug for that hole which I tack welded and bondoed. Mike

Use a 9/16 welch plug to fill the hole.
