Does anyone know anything about the Delco motorcycle prototype that was built for WWII? I'm wondering if Delco built their own engine or borrowed one from a BMW. Is there any info out there on it?

It seems unlikely that a German motor would be used during WW2.
Perhaps it was an XA? After all, HD and Delco were linked as tight as Indian and Autolite.
The attached pic is all I know of it.

Cotton, I was reading about the Delco in an old magazine article and the author was the one who suggested that they used an R71 engine. I don't know. It seems unlikely but it also seems unlikely that Harley would have provided a competitor for a government contract with an engine that they were just developing themselves.Comment
