  • Thin Steel D-Rings

Could someone tell me what the correct finish should be on a set of thin laminated D-rings. Their going on an early '54 FL with stainless steel rocker covers.
    Thanks, George

I'm pretty sure they were chrome plated.
All the ones I had kicking around in milk crates were, anyway.

Thanks for the help. I was thinking cadmium but wasn't sure. I'm taking the manifold and plummers nuts to the plater for cad and will add the D-rings as well. I bought the stainless steel covers on ebay but after polishing I'm not happy with the amount of dents and dings they have. Their useable but I'd sure like to find a nicer set. If anyone has a set they would like to sell please reply, I'm ready to make a deal. I have a very nice pair of aluminum with thick Aluminum D-rings. I'd like to keep them but would trade for a good pair of stainless. Thanks again for the replies guys.
