can anyone advise where I can obtain the correct value capacitor
for My 45''? My last correct one gave up the goast ,now I am having probloms with ''these small China caps thay come in tune up kits ""
I went through 5 capacitors trying to get one that would stop the light show[arching] on the points . I paralleled 2 small capacitors and what a difference , I had no arching on the points at all ,and the machine had power like it never had before .

    Hi There:
I don't profess to be a great Harley expert, but just replaced the second original type condenser in my '50 panhead with a relatively modern one from a chevy V-8. Although it was for a 12 volt system, and my bike is on 6, it also works well, much better than ever before.

Pete , what is the physical size of Your replacement condenser ?
I need to measure the value of the 2 condensers I have now and try to obtain 1 of the total value .

The Chevy condenser is 1 3/8" in length, and about the same diameter as the Harley one. It fits inside the breaker assembly just fine.
