  • Rear VL Crash Bars

I have a rear crash bar that I was told is for the rear of a 1930 VL
I have a front bar that is correct but I can't seem to find a mounting position for the top two brackets on the bar to the frame.
Is there another bracket needed or is this the wrong bar for this bike?

The rear VL crash bar looks a lot like the one for the small twin, but with two spacers or collars welded on under the central mounting holes. It fits through the two inner holes of the four on the frame behind the battery box, which also hold down the rear fender front tab. The parts books give no clues as to the mounts, but the top ones will be longer 5/16" UNF bolts, perhaps 069, while the side ones will be the sidecar lugs. The rear crash bar for the VL is rarely seen, and I surmise it may not have been introduced until 1935, with that for the small twin, but given the -30 part number because it fits all VLs.

      Thanks Steve for the reply
I can't seem to make the top two brackets meet to anything they seem to far apart from the 4 mount holes in the top above the battery box.
I have tried to attach some photos but no luck yet
