VIN numbers 1928 JD

Can anyone tell me if there is a plain model JL. I know that there is a J, a JX and a JXL. Is there anyone out there that has knowledge regarding the history of the 1928 J model. Any VIN # knowledge will help.

Yes, there there was a distinct "JL" model in 1928 listed as a "Special Solo" (whatever that means).

Serial numbers started with #1000 (not 1001 as often presumed).
