  • footboard mount on frame

hope you dont mind i gotta zillion questions...
I'm putting a shovelhead on a rigid frame, and i was thinking about a pan primary cover ( they sell them aftermarket) but it doesnt look like there's a mount for the floorboard on the cover like on my fl.
Did the panhead frame have a mounting tab for a floorboard ?
I have a pair of tabs on order because the other side definately gets one.
hehe sorry if i offend you panheads for doing this...
    thanks, kj

    hello again,

Yes, there are mounting tabs on both sides. The footboard on the primary side mounts to the foot-shift or foot clutch bracket (depending on tank or foot shift) and to the frame. v-twin makes a nice set of footboard mounts (part of footboard assembly) for about $100 which are perfect for mounting your footboards. Make sure the tabs on the frame are in the correct spots. If the frame had been butchered, (sorry) i reccomend looking over the whole thing for missing tabs and maybe even having it checked for straightness, just my suggestion. hope this helps.
